Knitting as an art and a craft was kept alive only as a hobby I wanted to set out some basic knitting instructions as a refresher so here it is.
In the more complex double knitting, two or more yarns alternate repeatedly within one row and all the yarns must be carried along the row, as seen in Fair Isle sweaters. This pattern looks very nice especially for sweaters. The local yarn store will often provide assistance if you are having trouble with your pattern, regardless of whether you purchased your knitting supplies from them or a competitor.
If you have a mesh sweater dryer then lay it out carefully shaping the sweater to its original proportions. Since a typical piece of knitted fabric may have hundreds of wales, warp knitting is typically done by machine, whereas weft knitting is done by both hand and machine. I love the new kids needles that are about 7 inches long.
