rasta knit hats

Knitting may be done by hand or by machine. In this article, I will attempt to explain some of the basic knitting stitches and everything they encompass.

In knitting you are often counting your stitches and focusing on nothing more than the stitches being created and the count itself. Some of the complicated patterns become, if not simple or easy, less intimidating once you have a few easy projects under your belt. All other patterns emerge from these few stitches.

We're all crazy busy, and finding time to make hand-knit gifts might seem completely impossible. Now wind your yarn over cross of two needles, over the right hand needle. But it is all part of the process, and most knitters, no matter how goal-oriented in their daily lives, face this part of the knitting experience with cool composure and aplomb.

You watch it come to life as you go, and little by little, your knitting becomes reality. All it consists of is knitting one row, then purling the next, and so on, and so on.
