how to machine knit

Knitting needles in a variety of sizes (US 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and 15 from the bottom). Here's how I care for the things I have been knitting.

Records show that the first sweaters were knit in the 17th century; before that smaller pieces and undergarments were knit. You decide how long (approximately) it should take for someone to learn the basics of knitting, and then become intermediate knitters, and on to advanced. On the wrong side, the ends of the loops are visible, both the tops and bottoms, creating a much more bumpy texture sometimes called reverse stockinette.

Although the mechanics are different from casting on, there is a similar variety of methods. These are all good choices for that very first project. These yarns can be used in the sock-knitting machine.

Even if you're a pretty proficient knitter, this isn't the time to learn a new technique or work with a skinny fingering-weight yarn that will take forever to knit up. It doesn't all happen at once.
